As we gather players, I'd like to discuss Character Creation, heroes versus villains. By all means you are welcome to choose whichever route you'd like; however, please limit to Heroes if you're not too active, or a henchman villain if you really want to be evil.
I've been reading DM forums, and other fun stuff. I'd like to hear about some "cool things" you picture for your characters. Like particular scenes, which could possibly show just what types of characters you're looking to play. It's a lot of fun, Ya? Remember: you are in full control of your characters, and may play them as you wish. As "DM", I step in only if/when it'll break the game, etc.
You have limitless possibilities! What will you be? Human? Elf? Gnome, Goblin or Orc? So much to choose from!
Side note: Elves are common enemies in this period, but not all Are loyal to their Empire (known simply as the Dominion of the Sun).
I favor a lot of flavor in class-building. You're free to all classes available, with PrC for when you're "higher level". Just see me before you go with anything outside the PHB, so I can look it over.
I'm excited to see what adventurers can come up with!

Heroes assemble!
Once we have enough players to form a solid party, an adventuring group will begin; if by chance more than a desired number of heroes arise, separate parties will be created and put into different areas.
A primarily Elven party may be put into Maedelsa or the Sun Dominion, while a mostly human party will go to the Eveliegh Empire. Unless of course you'd prefer to stay out of warfare right away and go to one of the many neutral territories.
Please make characters, invite players, and above all--have fun!!!

I'll fix my "Skills" section soon, I couldn't figure out the format, and was borrowing the one already used by Ramelia and Atticus. I'll correct that shortly.

Okay, so I'm gathering most of the Campaign information between work and whatnot, I've got a bunch of ideas, but I wanted to have a brainstorming session, for everyone. This way we can put other ideas in to make it not just DM's take, but yours, too! It is your world, make it your own.
Ideas, let 'em flow!

Chiefly because I don't know exactly WHAT is going on in your world (both OOC and IC), might I suggest starting us off on something small and slowly building to the full-fledged war stuff. After all, we are at level 1 and the battlefield is no place for someone as squishy as 6hp >_>()
Also, for the colorblind among us, can we label the map with a secondary method beyond colors? Like... triangle, circle, square? Cuz... I can't see colors.
On that note, any info on the nations would be slammin' since I don't really know where to have Atticus come from ^_^()

No worries, Atticus. We will definitely not start in the fray, on the battlefields bathed in blood or anything like that. Rest assured.
Um, in addition to that, here's something brief until I put up the information (which should be around tomorrow or so).
The Empire of Avalendor (also known as the Eveliegh Empire), is currently engaged with the Dominion of the Sun, a conflict that has lasted for centuries between the Sun Elves of the latter group spouting fighting words of supremacy. Before their rise, the Elves were at odds with the mythic dragons of old, and their skirmishes lasted far longer than any wars to date. Because of the Elven victory, which they attribute to being favored by the Eladrin (Fey gods), their arrogance spread to the select champions from that time period and thus the Sun Dominion arose. This was of course after the southern elves (the Moon Elves), having one of their oldest rulers supposedly ascend to the Eladrin Court in her time, broke their allegiance. Their reasoning was the destruction of their capital, when their Ascended's hubris got the best of their nation and one of the five moons was called down upon them. The Sun Elves dismissed this betrayal as weakness and quickly decimated the Moon Elf army, but like their own kin they preserved. To this day the Dominion is at odds with the Human nations and occasionally skirmishes with the Moon Elves. The latter occasionally accepts orders to fight for the Dominion, only when their homeland is in danger.
The neutral territories are lands unclaimed by any of the three empires; they are separate, but united with similar goals by two wise rulers, powerful wizards who refuse to play war games. They serve as judges in the unceasing conflicts, and it is rumored they commune with the Inevitables to maintain peace.
I will fix the map, as well.

Cool. Out of curiosity, which nation would most likely be the site of the most predominant mage academy? Chances are pretty good Atticus will either be from (or choose to spend most of his time in) a place with a LOOOT of books to read. Unless you want to have his "accident" also be the cause of a major school's destruction, thus necessitating his banishment from mage academies XD

The most powerful nations in terms of Arcane studies would have to be Namorn, the small neutral kingdom ruled by Balthaizar and Morgana. The only reason I say this is because they have the largest vault of collected spell books ever recorded, and the palace guard is only manned by trained spellswords.
Real, raw academic power in terms of the strongest nation can't really be decided. The Elves have been practicing since the Era of the Giants, and before the skirmishes with the Dragons they learned from the latter. However, because humanity is so short-lived in comparison, their dedication is stronger, their eagerness go learn is more powerful. You will only find the Rainbow Tower (seat of the Eight Grand Mages) in Avalendor, the capital of the Eveliegh Empire. Their Universities are spread among the empire itself, although the enclave making up the Rainbow Tower is a small city in itself and colleges have sprung up there.
I was also thinking about how I wanted to go about explaining why, in lieu of an actual School of Transmutation, the Grand Transnuter (Brass) erected a Roving Golem Castle to serve as the new "School".
Before the Duke rose to power among the Grand Mages, there was another before him. His name was Lucian Brightstone, a Master Transmogrifist, who controlled the Moving Hills where the School used to sit. Perhaps it was here Attikins disobeyed the rules and found a bit of deep magic that led to the destruction of the College.

Sounds good to me! In the meantime, I think I know where to have Atticus start off. Since you said the rainbow tower is pretty much the seat of arcane colleges, I think Atticus will probably be there. It's not power that attracts him, but simply the accumulation of knowledge. Basically, you could have a million crap spells and the other guy could have ten really good ones - Atticus would choose the million every time. I think I'll add a "History" section to explain backstory leading up to jumping into the game, if that's alright. If not, I'll delete it.

So we've got: a Human Wizard, Bard and an Elven Druid. Mages, the lot of them, but also trained in other aspects (such as the light clerical power of the latter, and moderate fighting power of the Bard). Perhaps, though, we have need of a Cleric/and or their Paladin Guardian, a Fighter or Monk, definitely a Rogue of sorts...we've got a bit of work to do.

Please, set up character sheets as soon as you can. You don't need play statistics if you don't want. I'll use my RPG scribe app if I need to, and if we really use mechanics. If you have any questions just address them here or PM me.
